Realistic scale model kit depicting the Messerschmitt Me 262 A-1a/U3 or “Schwalbe/Sturmvogel” Swallow/Storm bird (fighter/fighter-bomber), the first combat deployed jet aircraft, jet fighter and jet fighter bomber in history. The Me 262 airframe first flew in 1941 and was introduced into service as the world’s first combat jet aircraft in April of 1944 where it was used primarily as a high speed bomber interceptor.
